MariaDB Sink
Provided by: "Apache Software Foundation"
Support Level for this Kamelet is: "Stable"
Send data to a MariaDB Database.
In your KameletBinding file, you must explicitly declare the MariaDB Server driver dependency in spec→integration→dependencies.
-
"mvn:org.mariadb.jdbc:mariadb-java-client:<version>"
This Kamelet expects a JSON-formatted body. Use key:value pairs to map the JSON fields and parameters. For example, here is a query:
'INSERT INTO accounts (username, city) VALUES (:#username,:#city)'
Here is example input for the example query:
'{ "username":"oscerd", "city":"Rome"}'

Dependencies
At runtime, the mariadb-sink
Kamelet relies upon the presence of the following dependencies:
-
camel:jackson
-
camel:kamelet
-
camel:sql
-
mvn:org.apache.commons:commons-dbcp2:2.10.0
Camel JBang usage
Prerequisites
-
You’ve installed JBang.
-
You have executed the following command:
jbang app install camel@apache/camel
Supposing you have a file named route.yaml with this content:
- route:
from:
uri: "kamelet:timer-source"
parameters:
period: 10000
message: 'test'
steps:
- to:
uri: "kamelet:log-sink"
You can now run it directly through the following command
camel run route.yaml
Camel K Environment Usage
This section describes how you can use the mariadb-sink
.
Knative sink
You can use the mariadb-sink
Kamelet as a Knative sink by binding it to a Knative object.
apiVersion: camel.apache.org/v1
kind: KameletBinding

kind: Kamelet
apiVersion: camel.apache.org/v1
name: mariadb-sink
properties:
databaseName: The Database Name
password: The Password
query: INSERT INTO accounts (username, city) VALUES (:#username,:#city)
serverName: localhost
username: The Username
Prerequisite
You have Camel K installed on the cluster.
Procedure for using the cluster CLI

file to your local drive, and then edit it as needed for your configuration. -
Run the sink by using the following command:
kubectl apply -f mariadb-sink-binding.yaml
Procedure for using the Kamel CLI
Configure and run the sink by using the following command:
kamel bind channel:mychannel -p "sink.databaseName=The Database Name" -p "sink.password=The Password" -p "sink.query=INSERT INTO accounts (username,city) VALUES (:#username,:#city)" -p "sink.serverName=localhost" -p "sink.username=The Username" mariadb-sink
This command creates the KameletBinding in the current namespace on the cluster.
Kafka sink
You can use the mariadb-sink
Kamelet as a Kafka sink by binding it to a Kafka topic.
